Ginger Santiago, MA
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
When I was growing up, I was different from what society
expected of a young girl. I didn’t fit the “box” of expected
behaviors, so I experienced social isolation. I quietly
suffered, but I became very aware of silent suffering in
others. I learned that it is with others that we are able to
share our burdens and look at things from a new
perspective, process pain, and find relief. Today I
recognize that being different is not an uncommon
experience. We are all unique and often times
succumb to the expectations of society. I chose to be a
counselor to help unravel the mystery of suffering and help
others to find freedom from quietly suffering.
My approach to the therapeutic relationship is person
centered where you are the expert in your experiences.
My attempt is to meet you where you are and understand
your world as you experience it. In doing so, together
we can explore alternative viewpoints and process
significant events that have brought you to my office.
I am committed to empowering individuals to embrace
their uniqueness and alleviate needless suffering through
enlightenment. As a veteran I have a high code of
honor and would be privileged to serve fellow
veterans and their families.
